Black Friday 2026
Mark the dates, make a plan
Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Here is what the forecasts say about this year's sales.
Black Friday is no longer a single day. Offers now start weeks earlier and run through the weekend to Cyber Monday. Knowing the dates, and what other shoppers are planning, helps you buy what you need at a price you are happy with.

The key dates
- Early to mid November: many retailers begin their offers well before the day itself. MoneySavingExpert notes that discounts often now begin in early November or even late October.
- Friday 27 November: Black Friday.
- Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November: the 'Cyber Weekend'.
- Monday 30 November: Cyber Monday, traditionally the online-focused end of the sales weekend.
What the 2026 forecasts say
Online spending is expected to rise
Adobe's 2026 UK holiday forecast, reported by Retail Week, predicts UK shoppers will spend a record £28.92bn online between 1 November and 31 December, up 6.2% on last year. Around £4.05bn is expected to be spent online across the four days from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, with Black Friday itself forecast to be the biggest online spending day of the year at £1.24bn.
But individual budgets are tighter
Surveys of shoppers paint a more careful picture. Research from Omnisend, reported by Retail Gazette, forecasts UK spending across Black Friday and Cyber Monday falling to £9.9bn, with average planned spend per shopper dropping from £390 to £267. The share of people expecting to spend under £100 has more than doubled.
YouGov found that fewer than one in four British adults (23%) expect to buy something during Black Friday or Cyber Monday this year, with an estimated average spend of £206 among likely shoppers.
What this means for you
More people are shopping online, but they are spending more carefully. That is a good instinct. A smaller, well-planned basket of things you will use every night beats a big basket of impulse buys.
The biggest worry: is the deal real?
According to YouGov, 47% of likely Black Friday shoppers say it is hard to tell whether a discount is genuine. That is a bigger concern than finding the best deal or comparing prices. Over the coming weeks we will share practical guides on checking prices, knowing your rights and shopping safely, so you can buy with confidence.
