It's commonly asked. We explain the differences in our blog.

Woven from long-staple fibres for exceptional durability and breathability. A classic matte finish that softens with every wash.
Expertly agitated to create a plush, thermal nap. This fabric traps heat for a cocooning, velvet-soft experience during colder months.
At Sheet Story, we prioritise fibres that respect both the sleeper and the environment. Our Bamboo is sourced from FSC-certified forests, requiring significantly less water than traditional textiles, while our cotton is selected for its longevity—reducing the need for frequent replacement.
We recommend our Bamboo collection. The round, smooth structure of the bamboo fibre is inherently non-irritating and hypoallergenic. Its natural resistance to dust mites and bacteria makes it the gold standard for those with eczema or skin sensitivities.
To preserve the tensile strength of the weave, wash in cool water using a specialised delicate detergent. We advise against high-heat tumble drying, which can 'snap' natural fibres; instead, air-dry or use a low-temperature cycle to maintain softness.
While often used as a marketing metric, true quality is determined by the staple length and weave type. A lower thread count using long-staple fibres will always feel superior and last longer than a high thread count made with inferior, short fibres.
