A plain flat sheet, or one in the same stripe a shade paler underneath it's mostly hidden, so save the boldest fabric for where it'll be seen.
This is where Harmony or Serene earns its keep the largest visible surface in the room, and the one piece that does the most styling for the least effort.
Two plain European squares at the back, your striped pillowcase pair at the front. Never more than one pattern on a bed unless you're mixing Harmony and Serene deliberately.
